Kauffman Leadership Academy offers an exciting opportunity for teachers who understand and practice the art of teaching as well as the science of teaching. We are hiring 8th through 11th grade

teachers in math, science and PE areas.

Dual credit will be offered in the high school, so first priority will be given to Master level teachers.

What is a charter school?


Charter schools are free, public schools.

According to the Texas Education Code, the purposes of charter schools are to:

  • improve student learning;
  • increase the choice of learning opportunities within the public school system;
  • create professional opportunities that will attract new teachers to the public school system;
  • establish a new form of accountability for public schools; and
  • encourage different and innovative learning methods.


Kauffman Leadership Academy provides a choice for the families of Johnson county with:

  • 15 students to every teacher
  • 75 minute class periods every day
  • 8 am to 5 pm school day
  • 200 instructional day school calendar
  • A cultural lunch hour every day with guest speakers
  • A chromebook for every student as their tool for learning
  • Community service monthly

Kauffman Leadership Academy is led by Dr. Theresa Kauffman, whose 35 years of classroom and administrative experience combined with the  Ed.
